Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Meg Shafir is a highly skilled pediatric occupational therapist dedicated to supporting children's growth and development across multiple settings. With a strong foundation as a preschool teacher at the Dwight School in Manhattan, Meg discovered her passion for helping children learn, grow, and thrive. She earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Hofstra University and has further enhanced her expertise through specialized training in reflex integration using the Masgutova Method.
Meg has experience working with children of all abilities and learning styles, including her work at the Rassias Language Intensive program through Dartmouth College, which strengthened her ability to connect with diverse learners. Her child-centered occupational therapy approach focuses on tailoring interventions to each child’s unique strengths, providing neuro-diverse affirming care, and promoting confidence. She specializes in reflex integration, social emotional skill development and building regulation strategies. She developed and is currently leading a social emotional after school program at a Santa Monica preschool.
At Bloom Pediatrics, Meg combines her extensive experience, creativity, and dedication to help children reach their full potential. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys cooking, martial arts and spending time with family, friends, and her beloved basset hound, Maisy.
