Social Groups for 7-9 year olds

This 8-week group for children ages 7–9 focuses on building social awareness and flexible thinking through engaging, hands-on activities. Children explore concepts such as sharing imagination, the Zones of Regulation, the size of the problem, and flexible thinking to enhance their social skills and understanding of hidden rules and unexpected behaviors. They practice making smart guesses, distinguishing flexible versus stuck thinking, and assessing the size of a problem. In addition, children learn to read facial expressions, recognize a wider range of emotions, and understand how their actions are perceived by others. Through these activities, they gain insights into their own emotional responses and develop strategies for problem-solving, self-regulation, and positive social interactions.
