What can I expect?
An evaluation is the first step in determining whether your child would benefit from occupational therapy. Our evaluations include parent interview, direct time spent with your child, administration, scoring, and interpretation of assessments, and a score summary report or comprehensive written report. With every evaluation, we follow-up with a parent meeting to discuss your questions about the results and to establish goals and a plan for moving forward, if recommended. The evaluation typically takes place in the occupational therapy clinic setting. Clinical observations may be obtained in the home, school, and/or community environments. Individual therapy sessions are playful and fun, providing opportunities for the "just-right" challenge. Each session allows for 50 minutes of direct treatment.
