Seedlings and Camp FAQ
What are your drop-off and pick-up policies?
Drop-offs and goodbyes generally happen at our front gate, where we will be waiting to greet you and your child upon arrival. If you think your child will need more time to transition, let us know so we can plan ahead to help. When your child is done for the day, we will walk them out to the front yard to meet you. You must arrive at least 10 minutes early for pickup. All children must be signed in and out.
In order for us to be good neighbors while providing the best experience for your children, we ask parents and caregivers to please park and walk their child to our entrance. Street parking is available (be sure to read the posted signs for parking restrictions). If parents or caregivers are unable to find parking, please call or text (310) 494-6889.
Be sure to notify all family members and caregivers who are responsible for drop-off or pick-up for your children about these procedures. Bloom staff may remind you of them as well.

When is the deadline to register?
There is no deadline to register. We enroll children if they are “group ready” and there is space available. Keep in mind that with the limited number of spaces available, Bloom fills up quickly!
-
Do you keep a waiting list?
Yes — if a group is full, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list at no cost. If space becomes available, Bloom will contact you and you will have 24 hours to confirm registration. Registration is not confirmed until payment has been made.
-
How are children grouped together?
Children are thoughtfully matched considering their age, abilities, areas of strength, and areas of stretch. Each group is comprised of four children, one lead occupational therapist, and a Master or Doctorate-level occupational therapy student or occupational therapy aide, creating a highly individualized experience with a minimum of 2:1 child to adult ratio.
-
Can I request that my child be grouped with a sibling or friend?
Parents may request their child be placed with siblings and/or friends. Group requests are not guaranteed, but every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these requests. In order for group requests to be considered, all parents must make the request. We do not offer refunds or credits if we are unable to accommodate friend requests.
-
What if my child doesn’t like it?
Our therapists and staff are very skilled at facilitating and supporting new friendships and in making every child feel comfortable and successful. If your child is having a hard time with their experience for any reason, contact us as soon as possible so we can come up with an individualized plan to help.
-
What if my child has allergies?
If your child has allergies, dietary restrictions, or if there is any other important information we should know, contact us before your child begins. WE ARE A NUT-FREE SITE, so please do not pack anything with nuts in your child’s snack or lunch.
-
What if my child is late or absent?
We look forward to seeing your child each day and make lots of plans for them, so please let us know if they will be late absent by texting or calling (310) 494-6889. Bloom does not offer make-up days or prorate fees for lateness or absences.
-
What should my child wear?
Dress your child in layers or a light jacket since it tends to be chilly in the morning and warms up later in the day. Kids should dress in comfortable play clothes that can get dirty and messy. Sneakers or closed-toe sandals are required since kids will be running, climbing, jumping, and playing!
-
What should my child bring?
In a backpack or bag, please include a water bottle, a snack (and lunch, if enrolled in full-day activities), and a change of clothes. If your child uses pull-ups, pack some extras of those, too. Remember to label everything with your child’s name. Lost and Found items are donated to charity seasonally.
