Kasi is a board-certified music therapist with 20 years of experience working in pediatric music therapy. She has co-authored the Individualized Music Therapy Assessment Protocol, and is co-author of a number of chapters in different music therapy books. Music therapy is the individualized and clinical use of music in order to support children in the development of non-musical goals. It is a fun, engaging, relationship-based and success-oriented application of music. Goals include sustained attention, improved communication, fine and gross motor skills, emotional expression, social skills, academic skills, and sensory processing.

As a SENG-Model Parent Group Master Facilitator, Kasi co-facilitates support groups for families raising gifted children. She holds a certificate in Gifted and Talented Education through University of California Irvine and currently serves on the Board of Directors for SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted), Gifted Homeschoolers Forum, and Profoundly Gifted Retreat. Kasi the co-founder of Square Pegs, a service for families seeking alternative paths in education and offering community education about the social-emotional implications of giftedness. She lives in Culver City with her husband and two children.
